Idiocies

Here I’ll list things that, while not being criminal and not presenting direct danger, nevertheless contribute to making Russian life feel like eating stale porridge. These will include lineups, rules and regulations, or ordinary things done in a clumsy, nonsensical, or often degrading way.

…photo of public washrooms with one common roll outside

…public washrooms with a cleaning lady doing her job during normal washroom business

… Bowing to buy tickets or pay for gas

… Smoke screen at the entrance to a respectable store

…. Mention the search on exiting Decathlon, and the Rambo-style security guard demonstrating his stick at Auchan.

…. Filling out registration application

…. Traffic cops on a hunt

…. Metal detectors

….

A notice explaining the rules of bribing airport officials. If you bribe but then voluntarily report the incident you are relieved of responsibility is one of them. Note the language. A verbatim translation of your typical modern Russian.
