Very similar to Alexandra’s in layout. Although the place has been recently renovated, its style is straight from the 70s, with carpet covering the whole wall, a piano, a display full of crystal and china, wallpaper with a fancy patters, and lots of potted flowers.

$80/night, $450/week, $1300/month. Utilities included.
Room only **may** be possible at 1/2 the rate but no reservation and probably no discounts for the room.
Irina speaks French!

Call +7 916 705 2365, +7 499 476 8125, or +7 495 687 5708 but only in RUSSIAN or FRENCH.E-mail in English no problem as her children who live with her are fluent in English.

This apartment, same as Alexandra’s, has a bike assigned to it! You can also borrow one from Alexandra’s, thus making it too!

The offer is new so availability is high. The schedule will be posted soon but for the moment (May 11 2012) you can assume it is available whenever you want this place.

Photos are coming up. The apartment as shown in the photos below is in the process of being freed from clutter in preparation for making it available for rent. One room can be put in a livable state within hours. The whole apartment is to be ready within a couple of weeks but if you really want it just say so and Irina Mitrofanovna, the owner, will speed up the process..

The bedroom. In your mind please subtract the ladder and boxes and clutter associated with the move under way, and try to see a well kept although profoundly Russian style apartment.

Lots of flowers are part of the style. If you are staying there for more than a couple of days remember to water them.

Note the carpet that covers the whole wall and a cabinet with china. These are distinct features of a respectable household of the 70s, blessed Brezhnev years. On the left is Irina Mitrofanovna, the owner herself. She is a practicing doctor and knows well the medical scene in Moscow. Talk to her if you have any medical issues, and she should be able to send you in the right direction.

This apartment too comes with a bike. So you have easy access to both this and the one attached to Alexandra’s apartment one floor up. The area is quite bike friendly. Proximity to Sokolniki makes the whole east end easily accessible by bike. The bike path along the Yauza river will take you to the city core. And VDNK and Botanical Gardens open up the north of Moscow.

In summer you are protected by foliage from the view onto the police station. This is Russia and uniform wearing people to be avoided are pretty much anywhere you look. For piece of mind try to remain ignorant of what’s happening inside of these places to poor souls who happen to be caught drunk or without documents, or dare to exercise their right to free peaceful assembly, or do something equally damaging. These trees also make lack of air conditioning in this apartment bearable.

The washer looks and probably is new. And more flowers. Please take watering flowers seriously! For Irina Mitrofanovna’s generation flowers almost define the household, and the treatment guests receive is directly related on how regularly and carefully they water plants.

Wrte to Irina in Russian or French. If writing in English please copy to me and I’ll help you communicate. If the matter can’t wait call +7 985 217 3241 but do so ONLY if e-mail won’t do by some reason, and I’ll take it from there, but those telephoning me without any real need risk to be shouted at and told to FO. As much as possibly spare me from  relaying messages and doing more administrative work than I have to. Thanks.

See neighbourhood photos at the page with Alexandra’s apartment, which in the same building.
